What ViCut makes best

The topics and languages ViCut is built for, and the kinds of videos it can’t make well yet — so you know before you spend credits.

Updated October 19, 2026

ViCut makes documentaries: a narrator tells a real story over real photos, archive images, stock video, maps and animated charts. It works in English, Spanish and German.

Works great

Tell ViCut who the video is for in your brief — *“for young people in Mexico”*, *“für Rentner ab 60”* — and the script, footage and thumbnails follow that audience.

Not a good fit yet

ViCut doesn’t draw pictures, so topics without real photos end up illustrated by random stock:

  • Made-up stories: drama, romance, revenge stories, fairy tales, sci-fi stories. Illustrated stories are on our roadmap.
  • Games, anime and cartoons: we can’t show game or anime footage.
  • “How it’s made” factory videos: stock libraries rarely have the exact machines and steps.
  • Reactions and commentary on other people’s videos.
  • Videos for children.
Note. You can still make such a video. In Idea mode ViCut warns you before Generate and lets you choose Make it anyway. With your own voiceover it stops before gathering footage — the first step that costs credits — and Try again continues.

Length and languages

Videos are 3 to 35 minutes. Narration can be in English, Spanish or German; more languages are coming.
