Replace or re-voice the narration

Changed your mind about the voice, or recorded a cleaner take? You don’t need to start over.

Open Replace voiceover on the storyboard timeline, or in the … menu on the finished video page.

Upload a new recording

On the Upload file tab:

1. Drop the audio. You can add several parts: they are joined top to bottom, and you can drag them into order.
2. Check the comparison: old and new length, how many scenes will be re-timed and how many of your frame picks are kept.
3. Press Sync new voiceover. It is free.

The new recording must be the same script. Small differences are fine; a different text is not. Formats are the same as for a new video: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC or OGG, up to 35 minutes in total and 100 MB per file. The new recording may be shorter or longer than the old one: scenes are re-timed to it, even under 3 minutes.

Generate a new voice

For videos with a script (Idea mode), the Generate voice tab voices the same script again with the narrator you pick. Listen to the samples, pick a voice (pressing a sample also picks it) and press Voice and sync. The current voice is marked and can’t be picked again. It is free.

While it syncs

The storyboard shows Syncing the new voiceover… with the progress, and editing is paused until it finishes. It usually takes a few minutes.

Afterwards:

• Scenes are re-timed to the new voice. Your frame picks and Change looks are kept.
• Some scenes may be marked very short or very long: merge, split or keep them. See Change how a scene looks.
• Changed your mind? Press Undo in the message. The previous voiceover comes back.

Credits

Syncing and voicing are free, and footage is not gathered again. If the new recording is longer, the render costs more. If you don’t have enough credits for that, you can still sync now and add credits before rendering.

If the video was already rendered, it needs a re-render to use the new voice. The current MP4 stays available until then.
