Terms of Service
Last updated: October 19, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ViCut, including the website, the web app and any related services (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by ViCut (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What ViCut does
ViCut helps creators make long-form, documentary-style videos. You can upload a voiceover or a script, or describe an idea and let the Service write a script for you. The Service then builds a storyboard with stock, archive and map footage, and renders an MP4 video. It can also produce subtitles, thumbnails and suggested YouTube titles, descriptions and chapters.
We may add, change or remove features over time. Some features may be labelled as beta and may not work perfectly.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.
- You sign in with a link we send to your email address. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can read your inbox can sign in to your ViCut account.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.
- You must give us an email address you control and keep it up to date.
- If you use the Service on behalf of a company or another person, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for them.
3. Plans, credits and payments
Paid use of the Service is offered as subscription plans (currently Starter, Creator and Studio). Each plan includes a number of credits for each billing period. Credits are spent on work the Service does for you, such as preparing a storyboard, gathering footage, rendering, and optional extras like premium themes or AI thumbnails. Current prices and credit costs are shown in the app before you start a job.
- When a job starts, the credits it needs are reserved. They are charged when the job succeeds. If a job fails because of a problem on our side, the reserved credits are returned in full.
- Gathering footage is charged as it happens. If you cancel preparation, credits already spent on gathering are not returned.
- Rendering a video again costs credits again.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and are available only while your account and subscription are active. Unless your plan says otherwise, unused credits do not carry over to the next billing period.
Payments are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record and handles billing, taxes and receipts. Prices are shown in US dollars without taxes; taxes and fees for your country are added at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card details. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it will not renew after that.
Right to cancel. You may cancel within 14 days of your first payment and get a full refund, but only if you have not used any credits. When you start preparing or rendering a video, you ask us to begin the service right away, and you agree that your right to cancel and get a refund ends as soon as credits are used. Credits used in part are not refunded in part.
Apart from that, and except where required by applicable law or by the payment provider’s refund policy, payments are non-refundable and we do not give refunds or credits for partially used periods or unused credits. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at [email protected] and we will look into it. We may change prices or credit costs for future billing periods; we will tell you in advance by email or in the app, and you can cancel before the change applies.
Deleting your account cancels your plan. Unused credits are lost and are not refunded.
Refunds, disputes and unauthorised payments. You may only pay with a payment method you are authorised to use. If a payment is refunded, we remove the credits it bought that are still unused. If a payment is reported as unauthorised or fraudulent, is disputed with your bank, or is refunded after its credits were used, we may cancel your subscription right away and suspend your account while we review it. Credits already used for videos cannot be returned, and we may provide records of that use to the payment provider in a dispute.
4. Your content
“Your content” means everything you give the Service: voiceover recordings, scripts, ideas and briefs, channel links, images and videos you upload, custom styles and any edits you make. You keep all rights you have in your content.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transcribe, analyse and modify your content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the Service for you, including sending it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except for copies kept in backups for a limited time or where we must keep them by law.
You confirm that:
- you own your content or have all the rights and permissions needed to use it with the Service and to publish the resulting videos;
- when you upload your own images or video clips, you have the right to use them in a published video, as you confirm in the app;
- voices you upload are your own or used with the speaker’s permission;
- your content does not break any law or anyone else’s rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and publicity rights.
We do not use your content to train our own AI models.
5. What the Service creates for you
Storyboards, rendered videos, subtitles, thumbnails, scripts, titles and descriptions created for you by the Service (“outputs”) are yours to use, including commercially, subject to these Terms and to the licences of any third-party material they contain. We do not claim ownership of your outputs. Similar requests from other users may produce similar outputs, and you do not get exclusive rights to footage, music, fonts or other material that is not yours.
AI can be wrong. Scripts, facts, figures, place names, titles and descriptions written by AI, and footage chosen automatically, may contain errors, outdated information or unsuitable images. You are responsible for reviewing every output before you publish it, and for checking facts that matter.
6. Third-party footage, music and credits
The Service finds footage and images from third-party sources such as Pexels, Pixabay, Wikimedia Commons, Openverse, the U.S. Geological Survey and OpenStreetMap-based maps, and may add background music by third-party authors. This material is not ours and remains subject to its own licence, for example the Pexels License, the Pixabay Content License, public domain or CC0, and Creative Commons licences such as CC BY and CC BY-SA.
- Some licences require you to credit the author. Use the “Copy credits” feature and add the credits to your video description when you publish. You are responsible for giving the attribution the licences require.
- Licence information comes from the sources themselves and can be incomplete or wrong. We try to filter out material with restrictive licences, but we cannot guarantee the licence status of every item.
- Some material may show people, brands or buildings that need extra permissions for certain uses. Check before using it in ways that need them.
7. Publishing and platforms
You are solely responsible for the videos you publish and for how you use them. When you publish on YouTube or any other platform, you must follow that platform’s terms, community guidelines and monetisation policies, including any rules on disclosing altered or synthetic content. We do not promise that any video will be accepted, monetised, recommended or successful on any platform.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to create, upload or distribute content that:
- is illegal, or infringes someone else’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- is hateful, harassing, violent or threatening, or promotes discrimination;
- sexualises minors or is sexually explicit;
- is deliberately deceptive, such as disinformation presented as fact, fake news, scams, or impersonation of real people or organisations;
- uses someone’s voice or likeness without their permission.
You also agree not to:
- interfere with or overload the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or bypass limits, credits or security measures;
- scrape, copy or resell the Service or access it by automated means other than those we provide;
- share accounts or create accounts to get around limits or a suspension;
- reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it.
9. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Settings → Privacy. We may suspend or close your account, remove content, or refuse a job if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, the law or third parties’ rights, if your use puts the Service or other users at risk, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid, unused part of your subscription period.
10. Storage of your files
Finished videos are deleted 30 days after they are rendered, and we email you 7 days before. Storyboards and drafts are kept while your account is active so you can render again. Download anything you want to keep. We are not a backup service and are not responsible for loss of content you did not download, except where caused by our breach of these Terms.
11. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required by law or is needed urgently to address security or abuse. The date at the top shows when these Terms were last updated. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the new Terms; if you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that outputs will be accurate, suitable for your purpose, or free from third-party claims.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, channel standing or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 100 if you have not paid us anything.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by third parties that arise from your content, the videos you publish, or your breach of these Terms or of the law, to the extent the law allows.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Serbia have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless mandatory consumer protection law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or under your local law. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally.
16. General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right, we do not give it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale of the Service, including to a company we set up to operate it.
